Dr. Gaik is always excited about meeting new patients.  This visit will provide Dr. Gaik with important insight into your orthodontic needs as well as your concerns and expectations.  Once Dr. Gaik knows exactly what you want and need, she can tell you how she can help you achieve your goals.

Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough visual examination by Dr. Gaik. She will provide you with a preliminary diagnosis and will be happy to answer any questions and address any concerns regarding your proposed orthodontic care including:
  • whether or not you need orthodontic treatment
  • why orthodontic treatment is necessary or recommended
  • why treatment is needed now or why it should be delayed
  • what orthodontic treatment options/appliances are available
  • what, if any permanent teeth need to be removed
  • the estimated length of treatment
  • the estimated cost of treatment and financial options available

While Dr. Gaik can often answer most of these questions at the initial examination, she will address specific areas of concern only after careful analysis of various diagnostic records.  These records include x-rays, photographs and impressions of your teeth.

Dr. Gaik strives to ensure that her patients leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific needs and treatment options.  Written information regarding the risks as well as the benefits of orthodontic treatment is also provided so that all patients can make fully informed decisions regarding their care or the care of their children.
